As it turns out . . .

I'm not the greatest poster in the world. However there are those of you out there whose fic I really enjoy and the comments which have been free flowing and fun have been very much appreciated. In case anyone is checking in. I've now finished that first year of teaching (ummm wow . . . that's all I'm going to say) and am about to start summer vacation.

I'm making a resolution to post more in the fall, but is seems weird to just post when nobody enjoys.

Ok. So having seen the new Atlantis I have to say that this season is shaping up very well indeed.

I liked this episode because while it was somewhat dark we learned all sorts of interesting things that I suspect will come in handy in future episodes. It didn't so much fill me with glee, but it did make me think about future possibilitiesand sometimes that's just as good.

This is pretty much my top gear - loved that . . . of course it is
There is much we don't know . . . and so inevitably now I really want to
Chuck/Weir? that moment had a pause that I figured could have gone anywhere. I have to admit that as soon as I saw here standing there I wondered who was going to walk up. I have to tell you I wasn't expecting Chuck.
Where was Lorne? He could have shined here and kicked some butt baby.

So I've been out of town for a few days. Riding high on the 200th ep of SG1 and what do I return to???

The news that SG1 has been canceled. NOOOOO followed by a little *pout*

Is this a big surprise?

No, not really. The show has had a good run (extremely good in fact) but no doubt it's audience has fluctuated over the years and TV watchers are indeed a fickle fickle bunch (sometimes). And really after 10 years on the same project I can't blame the people involved for getting a little tired of it.

Am I still disappointed and saddened by the news?

Yeah. SUre. You Betcha

This show has been part of my life for quite a while - and it's humour has helped me through some rocky times. So I will miss it and kind of hope not to have to bid it a fond farewell. At the same time I really don't want to see it go downhill and then go out. Though I really do think it's almost like they started a whole new series last year and see no reason why it couldn't keep going on.

And yes there is Atlantis - which I admit I am more Fannishly into these days, but I still love me some SG1

Ah Well. Not really my decision is it.

So SGA which I watched first was ok. Good in a creepy kind of sense and Torri did a great job of freaking out. Other than that . . . I'm sure the Weir/Sheppard fans enjoyed it. :-) Oh except for one line - and you all know the line I'm talking about . . . Ok.

So I'm finally hanging some of my fannish colours out to fly. I really like McKay/Sheppard and I just have to say . . .

How Awesome was it that in this ep, inside John's mind, Rodney is willing to sacrifice himself for John. Obviously John sees the goodness in Rodney's character - and that Rodney cares about him. *sigh* made me happy. (yes my goggles of choice were firmly in place)

And OMG The Replicators - they're bringing in The Replicators - the screams and frantic looks around at this point made me glad I was watching alone. Alternitively I could totally have done with someone to share the freaking with.

So Cool.

Lackey All Around

So this is primarily for aliaspiral but I hope that everyone can enjoy it. She was commenting recently on her comfort reads and mentioned a liking for Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. I offered some of the songs associated with that universe, but then couldn't decide and so ended up with a bit of an "album" for Valdemar. Everything is in one big zipped file (as I'm just figuring out this whole lj thing and didn't want to confuse myself too much :-)

If you really want an individual song I'm sure it can be arranged.

Obviously these will make more sense if you know the books, but if you don't they can still be entertaining.

I now have this lovely journal all to myself, and find that I don't yet have the time to edit it.

Regardless I wanted to take the time to say Hello! to any who might stop by, and to let you know that hopefully in the next few months once RL has calmed down some things should start getting a little more excited around here.
